Police Radio Chatter not working?

Hello, if you find that your Police Radio is not functioning correctly or you hear the normal radio instead of the police one. Please follow this guide.

 
 
1) Go in-game and go in your options
 
2) Look down the list for Independance FM Mode and set this to Sequential or Shuffle
 
3) Now click Complete Scan at the bottom of the menu. It should discover 3 files and say 0/3 then 1/3, then 2/3 and finally 3/3.
 
4) Close the menu (ESC button) and return to the game, you should now hear the police radio chatter when you're inside a cop car.
 
Please note , there is a known issue with radio chatter not working on EFLC.

You may want to add that, before posting make sure the files (234689, 234690, 234691 (maybe you could rename this to Police Chatter 1, 2 and 3)) are in the Documents/Rockstar Games/Usermusic folder.

i did all of that and still no radio chatter. it says scanner switched on, on myh screen

i had the same one but when i re-setup 7.4b it work again

Okay now i have figured it out....... I just made a copy of the soundtrack and renamed it ;D

with the new version out, police scanner is "off", how do i turn it back "on"? i have looked in the config file and might have overlooked it but i cant seem to find it

WHAT TO DO IF YOU'R POLICECHATTER ISN'T WORKING:

 

Hello everyone, if you experience that your Police Radio Chatter (PRC) ain't working, you can do some different stuff to try and fix this.

 

1: First of all, go to your 'Documents > Rockstar Games > User Music' and see if there are these 3 files: 234689, 234690 and 234691. *If they are there, just go ahead and enter your GTA 4 game, go under 'Options > Audio' and put your independence FM to sequential OR shuffle (I recommend shuffle, so it will play the Radio Chatter randomly), go to the bottom and click 'Complete Scan' (remember this last part!), and then it should work. If it still doesn't work, try to go under your 'Documents > Rockstar Games > User Music' and try to rename the 3 music files called: 234689, 234690 and 234691, to something else like PRC 1, 2 and 3.

 

2: In case you DONT have these 3 music files under your Documents, go to: http://mods.team-neo.com/iv/ , download the mod in the right side of the website, browse the installation to your desktop as I guess you already have the mod installed, then delete all files installed to the desktop, go under 'Documents > Rockstar Games > User Music' and see if the 3 files are there now. If they are, follow the instruction above from the star (*)

I can't get the police chatter to work in the police car. :/

Have done this but it still does not work. Police shatter works in an ordinary car. But not in a police car. It will only "normal" music :/

Renaming the audio files shouldnt make a difference though you shouldnt rename them anyway.

 

The issue is probably the fact that you only have 1 file. Try duplicating it 2 or more times so there are 3 files, the. Run a "complete scan" and set "indepence fm radio" to shuffle or sequetial.

 

There appears to be an issue with using the radion chatter on EFLC resulting in chatter not working.
